AP English 3 - 11th Grade

AP Language and Composition

According to the College Board’s Course Description, The Advanced Placement® Language and Composition Course is “AP English Language and Composition is an introductory college-level composition course. Students cultivate their understanding of writing and rhetorical arguments through reading, analyzing, and writing texts as they explore topics like rhetorical situation, claims and evidence, reasoning and organization, and style.”

This course sounds scary, but it is really a very helpful course not only for college readiness and the redesigned SAT exam but also for reading and writing beyond high school. I hope to help you enjoy the process of learning the many skills necessary to succeed in this course.

“Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass describes and analyzes his life since his early years as a slave in Maryland until he settled in New Bedford as a fugitive slave.
