Hello everyone! If you haven't heard, there is a dangerous TikTok challenge where students attempt to set devices on fire. A tech teacher in our district has seen this in their own lab this week with students using the headphone jack to shove it into the USB ports. Please read the attached information.

🌟 Thrive Thursday Spotlight 🌟
This week, we’re proud to celebrate Jesse Allred, a phenomenal Language Arts teacher at Las Cruces High School! Mr. Allred is not only a fantastic educator in the classroom, where he fosters independent thinking and a love for learning, but also a dedicated advocate for his colleagues as the site NEA representative.
He goes above and beyond to support staff at LCHS and across the district, always leading with a student-first mindset and a commitment to positive, solution-focused collaboration. His students recognize his impact too, nominating him for LCHS Teacher of the Year and praising his encouragement of their growth as independent thinkers.
Thank you, Mr. Allred, for all you do to help our students and staff thrive. Your leadership, passion, and dedication make a lasting difference!

We can’t wait to celebrate our amazing spring state champions in Activities, Arts, and Athletics next week at the LCPS Ceremony of Champions! It’s always an honor to come together with families, friends, and district leaders to recognize the dedication, talent, and incredible achievements of our students. You make us proud!

Reminder for the Class of 2025!
You're invited to take part in a heartwarming tradition — the Senior Walk. As you don your caps and gowns and walk the hallways one last time, you'll have the chance to reconnect with the teachers, staff, and friends who helped shape your early years.
It’s a special moment to reflect on how far you’ve come, share smiles and memories, and celebrate the journey ahead. Check the flyer for dates and times!

As the coordinator of the Safe Routes to School program, Ashleigh Curry is a passionate advocate for creating healthier, more active communities - one step and one pedal at a time.
Ashleigh wholeheartedly believes in the transformative power of walking and bicycling, not just as a mode of transportation, but as essential building blocks of a lifelong healthy lifestyle.
Her work focuses on empowering students and families to embrace active travel by making school routes safer, more accessible and more inviting.
Under her leadership, the Safe Routes to School program at Las Cruces Public Schools is more than a transportation initiative - it's a movement that inspires healthy habits, strengthens community connections and promotes long-term sustainability.
With every sidewalk improvement, crosswalk campaign and bike safety workshop, Ashleigh is paving the way for a healthier, more connected future for children and families across our community.
For being a true Champion for LCPS students and families, the Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation, Inc. is proud to celebrate you Ashleigh, in partnership with Nusenda Credit Union in giving you this STANDING OVATION AWARD
