This past weekend, our very own Apollo Archery Team and their phenomenal sponsors (Danielle, Myelle, and Mark) competed at the Red Mountain Shoot Out in Deming. They won the FIRST PLACE team award and 1st place elementary boys award. We also had some stand out student award winners! Bravo!

Make Up work: Students that are absent will have as many days absent to make up work missed. If you would like to pick up make up work the day of the absence, please call the office by 9:00AM to pick up between 3:00-3:30PM.

Text/Messaging App: Teachers will check texts and/or messaging apps between 7:45-8:00AM and then after school sometime between 2:50-3:15PM. If you need to get a message to your child or your child's teacher, please call the office so that we can relay it for you.

Breakfast from Outside of School: If you will be sending breakfast or drinks that are not water, with your child to school (including Starbuck's 🙂), please know that students will need to be finished with their items by the time breakfast is over. Students may have a water bottle with water in it with them throughout the day. This minimizes potential messes and distractions in the classroom.

Start Time: The school day officially begins at 8:00AM.

Morning Drop Off: When students have morning recess, all students are directed to the playground until 7:50AM. At that time there is a staff member on duty from 7:50AM-8:00AM in the parking lot and in front of the school to assist. After 8:00AM, please drop your child off in the front drop off or park and walk your child into the building through the front doors.

Last week, I sent a link with the sign up for PTO's annual Soup-er Bowl Luncheon for staff. (Huge thank you to those that have already signed up!!) :) Please remember to bring your own crockpot with liner to ease with clean up. PTO will truly appreciate that at clean up! We are proud to announce our partnership with STOPit Solutions, a nationally recognized leader in school safety and wellness.

Through this partnership, everyone in our school community has access to the STOPit anonymous reporting app – a powerful tool designed to deter and promptly address instances of bullying, school violence, self-harm, and inappropriate behaviors.

With the STOPit app, users can anonymously submit tips, attach photo or video evidence, and privately message school leaders with the necessary information to help everyone involved.

In addition, when a student or anyone in our school community needs immediate support, the STOPit app provides direct access to the Crisis Text Line. Users can anonymously text with counselors (day or night) until they feel safe and calm. Each campus will continue to manage incidents during school hours but will have additional resources through STOPit if additional assistance is needed.

We encourage everyone in our school community to download the STOPit app. The app will also be available on all LCPS-issued devices.

If you haven’t already done so, we kindly urge parents and guardians to download the STOPit app and become familiar with its features. This will not only enable you to guide your children in using the app but will also demonstrate our collective commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our whole school community. Please know that this company has been vetted by the New Mexico Public Education Department and its security features are in compliance with federal guidelines under FERPA and HIPAA.
