Hillrise 4th and 5th graders showed off their archery skills at the first competition of the 2023-2024 season, held in Deming, NM. Archers have been practicing weekly with Hillrise coaches Danielle Bosses, Mark Dwake and Myelle Harris. The team placed first overall.
The boys team consisted of 4th graders Jacky Zheng, Ashton Riggs, Elijah Furner Allred, William Nogales, Stephen Beauchemin, Omar Gonzalez, Calvin Purcell, as well as 5th graders Elijah Mata, Blake Moore and Yusef Guzman. All participates showed sportsmanship.
The girls team consisted of 4th graders Azalea Payan-Reyes and 5th graders Abigail Otero, Emerson Rogers, Elisa Bai and Mariah Duran. All participants were fantastic competitors. Emerson Rogers and Mariah Duran practiced their hunting skills in a 3D shoot.
