Bright futures start with Dual Language at LCPS! Kids grow in confidence, culture, and communication.

In partnership with Roadrunner Food Bank, the Bilingual Community Outreach team at LCPS will host a drive-thru food drive on Thursday, August 7, at the LCPS Family Support Center, located at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex, 505 S. Main St., Suite 249.

The food drive will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. A heartfelt thank you to our volunteers and community members who help make this possible.

En colaboración con el Banco de Alimentos Roadrunner, el equipo de Alcance Comunitario Bilingüe de LCPS organizará una colecta de alimentos tipo drive-thru el jueves 7 de agosto en el Centro de Apoyo Familiar de LCPS, ubicado en el Complejo Administrativo Dra. Karen M. Trujillo, 505 S. Main St., Suite 249.

Reminder: New Mexico Department of Health Offers Free Back-to-School Vaccinations

As schools prepare to welcome students back for the upcoming academic year, the New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH), will host free vaccination clinics in July to ensure all students meet state immunization requirements.

New Mexico law requires that all students enrolled in school be up-to-date on immunizations unless legally exempted. To help families meet these requirements, NMDOH will offer free vaccinations for all children ages 18 and younger, regardless of insurance status or whether they are established patients.

NMDOH will host walk-in vaccination clinics on July 23, 24, 25, 28, and 29, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Las Cruces Public Health Office, located at 1170 N. Solano, Suite A, Las Cruces, NM 88011.

Vaccines offered include all those required for school attendance:
• DTaP/Tdap (diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis)
• Polio
• MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella)
• Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type b)
• Hepatitis A and B
• PCV (pneumococcal conjugate)
• Varicella (chickenpox)
• Meningococcal ACWY

Thrive Thursday This week, we’re excited to spotlight Breanna Santome, the Family and Community Outreach Facilitator for the LCPS Bilingual Community Outreach team! Breanna has been instrumental in supporting LCPS families, building strong bridges between the district and community partners to sponsor food drives, hygiene drives, and more. She's known for her creative, outside-the-box thinking and tireless dedication to making a difference. Through her leadership, LCPS partners with organizations like Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico, Walmart (Walton & Valley), Albertsons, Sprouts, Tresco Inc., Fiesta Foods, Las Cruces First, and SaveMart just to name a few. Today LCPS hosted its first drive-thru food distribution event at Central Office in partnership with Roadrunner Food Bank, an initiative Breanna helped bring to life! Starting today, these events will take place every first Thursday of the month at the LCPS Family Support Center (9:30 AM until supplies last).
